ADMIN NOTE: Moved this thread from N-Scale to RailFanning, since it is great for everyone who enjoys watching 1:1 trains (Rick Brodzinsky) I didnt want to hijack BNSF Fans build thread... Belen >>> Flagstaff East >>>
I like watching the Flagstaff cam. Amtrak Southwest Chief #3 lands there around 9pm pacific time all week, and the #4 lands sometime in the morning when I’m still in bed. Plus there is a lot of BNSF traffic as well.
You could have hijacked the tread for a bit and I would have been good with it Thank for putting up the links. Here are two more at Santa Fe junction in KC that I like every so often as well. and Enjoy!
Me too...mostly because I have stood right at that yellow line (right about where it says Virtual Railfan at the bottom right) when them big beast locomotives come rumbling through! We railfan at the depot every time we go to Flag. Nothing gets your your heart pounding like having them coming right at ya !! For those who wanna scold...I always ask the Amtrack counter AND the people at desk inside the main terminal if its ok...and they all say... "Just be sure to stand behind the yellow line".
Anyone object to my moving this to the RailFanning forum? And, I like the idea of having a pinned topic with links to active cameras
Another VR cam to check out is at LaPlata, MO. #4 is scheduled to stop there at 9:33 AM CT and #3 is due at 7:39 PM CT. Also, many BNSF trains plus some from UP running on trackage rights. You can check the actual arrival times on the Amtrak website and, since the VR cams have a 12-hour rewind, there's still an opportunity to see the trains even if they pass through while you're asleep, at work, etc..
I kind of like the thread here. I don't visit the Rail Fanning at all. I'll remember it if it's here.
Have to agree. I dont visit the railfanning forum either. Although railfanning videos are 1:1 ..I like that we can find them here on n scale without wandering to far to find them. JMHO
Just moved the West Flagstaff camera back to 5:15 AM MST. Watched the Eastbound Amtrak train pull into Flagstaff. I didnt know you could back up the video... Amtrak pulled out of Flag at 5:25. An eastbound freight came through on the same track at 5:31. Kinda cutting it close eh ?
Tell you guys what I'll do: I will create a sticky of this topic in Railfanning Discussions in which these live camera links can be posted. I will also put a Sticky (and locked) item at the top of N-Scale, for those of you who don't normally look there. [Note: you can also always see NEW POSTS since last time you logged in, just by clicking the "New Posts" submenu selection under "TrainBoard"]
Here is a list of Virtual Railfan Cameras on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR9jbUvWYuLtPyoHboYuD0MHQLp0YzD2t I am sure there are more out there...
Always has to be that one guy. Some idiot shining a flashlight into the cameras at 5:35 AM today in Flagstaff. Ya just cant fix stupid !!!
