Pawel, The painting of the buses looks great! Nice idea of using the decal stripes. Your technical train looks great as well. I am biased, yellow is my favorite color. Scott
SM30 diesel locomotive shell was waiting for a long time. I was not able to make the chassis workable. I also had one boxcar I was not satisfied - the one in the middle was too high on those boogies: I decided to make a ghost car out of this one using modified Shorty: Finally this boxcar looks like this: The locomotive got chassis with boogies from unmotorized Shorty: It looks that those two fits together: It works:
Today I got an envelope with self designed decals - It seems to be a busy Christmans: I could not resist to start to follow up with some older projects...
I finished WARS restaurant car. It can be used for EC trains Berolina and Varsovia (Berlin - Warszawa - Berlin). With Germana wagons enriched by adding train plates:
With new decals I can continue with LOTOS Oil company project. I have found a photo of another painting scheme of the tank cars leased from GATX company (brown tank): I repainted electric TRAXX leased from Railpool company: My LOTOS locomotives doubled:
Pawel, Excellent decal work! The locos and cars look great! Did you mask the blue ends? If so, they look nice and crisp! Scott
I did it another way. 1. The whole body was painted blue. 2. The body was prepared with masking tape to paint grey roof: 3. Painting done: 4. Decal applied - this was one decal for the whole side of the locomotive with silver bacground This was done this way also due to the fact that the border beetween blue and silver is not a sharp line. You can see this when you enlarge the photo. This was to duplicate the original painting scheme: https://dziennikbaltycki.pl/nowa-lo...os-kolej-juz-w-gdansku/ga/c3-391647/zd/326628
Next electric locomotive is "Black Widow" for Berlin - Warsaw Express. This is again repainted loco from Marklin: Repainted with decals and pantoographs painted: In the front of the train:
Withe the last supply of decals I could finish ET41 project. The shells are 3D printed and designed by my Italian friend. Decals applied: It is time to add iron grabs (plastic rods), stairs -small ledders (photoetched), make window glazing (Humbrol ClearFix) and reassambly pantographs (also 3D printed ): With the Marklin's PKP gondola:
LOTOS oil company is using Vectron electrolocomotives as well. It was not so easy to make this conversion due to the fact that windows and front lights are not attached using just push-pull technique. They are all glued inside the shell. Due to this fact it is not possible to take them away for painting. To paint the shell all the windows has to be mask using Tamiya masking tape. The locomotive: In the front of container train: Two LOTOS locomotives in the front of the same train: This was inspired by the photo: https://www.rynek-kolejowy.pl/mobile/komisja-w-sprawie-lotos-kolej-przerwana-81385.html
Some tests with partially destroyed "donor wagons". Current PKP IC painting scheme applied using custom made decals (still to be improved). They were just quick job but I really like the result.I think this painting scheme looks really good in 1/220...
Pawel, Your latest round of decal work is really making your locos and rolling stock look fantastic! Scott
