Anyone here know if the DCC Bachmann Ten Wheeler will operate on regular DC? I really don't want to buy one that will only run once a year at shows.
...now if they only had a more modern boiler and a smaller tender I would own multiples of them. Alas, I only own one that is waiting for a new boiler and tender...
I have two Bachmann steamers. A 0-6-0 saddle back and a 4-6-0 HO DCC. the little one works with DCC. Neither will work with DC even they were advertised to work with both. But I only have 5 feet of track and didn't know about DCC at the time. Still don't and going back to N and DC for now.
If you have a buddy who has DCC, or access to a club, someone should be able to read/program your engines’ decoders and make sure DC compatibility mode is set for “on.” Bachmann locos should come from the factory with DC compatibility defaulted to on, but it pays to check. Did you get ‘em secondhand, by any chance?
Some clow… errrrrr, “chap” was trying to sell a Bachmann C&O long Vandy tender for $199 on EBay last week. That didn’t work for him, so he slashed the price to $75. Listing is gone now, so I guess it sold.
There are no clubs for HO or N DCC in the Appleton area. All shops that sell them are long gone. I have been informed on the internet that the books I bought from Bachmann are no longer applicable. Many other reasons including what's coming.
