I am working on some plans for the snow sheds that I have been making. If you are interested in them let me know and will either post them on Trainboard or email them to you.
The plans are rough righ now if you have any question please let me know. I will update them for you all as soon as things slow down. Tony, if you would like to cut them go ahead. I just used a hobby knife an trial and error. All measurments are in inches. Enjoy.
Jim...thanks for sharing. I have been a fan of snowsheds for a long time. I am going to work one of yours up for one of the other tunnels on the layout. Does this follow an prototype? Not that I care as I am totally freelanced. I followed the plans in NScale magazine a few years back and it is the focal point on my layout now... :shade:Love them snowsheds and the SD40-Ts that go with them...
I like it. here is what it will look like towards completion, here is a link to the prototype: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=181091
satokuma, This shed might not stand up under a load of snow on its roof. The sheds that you and Stourbridge Lion show were designed to keep blowing/drifting snow off the rails, not to deflect falling snow. Jim157's shed is designed to deflect falling snow. Excellent modeling, in any case.
Hey, guys and gals notice anything new on Jim's post? How about that. Check out that avatar. Awesome! Jim, Thanks for sharing the snowshed plans. I will be working on a few of these myself. I'm trying to find a way to justify having them on a desert mountain railroad. Ahh, slide barriers?
