I thought so too. I just spent the afternoon chasing trains and saw loads of container well cars, grain hoppers, coal hoppers, coal gons, tank cars, chemical hoppers, gravel gons, flat cars and center beam lumber flats. But no box cars. Maybe tomorrow.
The SRY has it's EYE on you!:biggrin9xs: Not the one that I originally planned on, But I thought it looked cool! Here's the one I set out for today. Not my entry,But cool too!
Another day of futile searching for box cars. Plenty of other stuff on trains. So boys, this is it. Where's Waldo? Somewhere in this photo is a Cotton Belt box car unloading lumber at a lumber yard in Rosenberg today. It was getting late and I could not get very close, so this is all I could see.:tb-wacky:

I found these box cars being used as storage sheds. More of a roster shot than an artistic shot. I had the same dilema as Russell. I caught a freight train, but alas, no box cars entrained..........
Alex: You rock, I was too busy in the gazebo trying to line up a good boxcar shot to see what you got a great photo of. I didn't know you were shooting B&W, thought you only did color. LaGrange 3 10/27/07
Hello Ed, I shoot color but if I see that it looks better B&W Ill use my editing software to change it. probably about 50% of my photos on railimages are B&W. The only other good photo I took in La Grange was there at the relay box La Grange South.
Alex congratulations on winning this weeks challenge, get your camera ready for the next challenge this weekend.
Congratulations Alex, I didn't get a real box car photo, to many stacks that weekend. I went for the model one up stairs I knew it would be there when I needed it. HA!
