Hi everyone, I thought I'd share the pics of the first PRR H30 Covered Hopper that was built. I will post pics of the PRR H30a in a couple of days. This was a fun kit to build and is extreamly detailed. Enjoy the pics.

Bob, when was the build date on these cars???? I'm a 50's kind of guy, anything past 58 is a no go! Rob
The brake parts are casted brass. You get the resevoir, actuator, control valve and air lines. The hopper uses Z-scale couplers installed by the builder. PRR Built the 34ft H30 Covered Hopper starting in 1935 and construction lasted to 1958. Initially built for cement transport, they were allso used for soda ash, lime, sand, etc. They were extremely common prior to the introduction of large covered hoppers and were regularly used in interchange service. They could be found anywhere, although mostly in the Northeast. The final scheme was the Conrail "cracked wheel" scheme. There was still one in revenue service in 1981.

Nice Hopper Yes indeed Bob, looks like a winner there as well. And the details are quite nice. Years ago who would have thought it from N Scale. Goes to show you what a difference a day makes. Ought to sell well.
Last week it was the PRR H30, this week I got the first PRR H30a built. On this hopper, I used the included .009 PB wire instead of the etched grabs. Next up, a PRR K7a Stockcar due very shortly.
