Sunday, July 12, 2009 Good Afternoon, I've just posted a brief new article over at Ztrains.com regarding an alternative to Dull Cote. I was speaking recently with Joel Bragdon of Bragdon Enterprises, makers of my favorite weathering powders, and we've published an email from Joel regarding this Dull Cote alternative. Are you suggesting this Adhesion Promoter as a replacement for the usual wear-protection function of Dullcote, or just for the particular process of applying weathering powders? The powder application is the only thing mentioned in the linked article. Thanks...
Hmm, I'm with Rob. I take it as you spray it on first which helps the chalks grab better. But no mention of a final spray. I would think that there should be a final "sealing" spray or the chalks will come right off on your fingers when handling the models. Mike
I have ammended that article to include the use of this adhesion promoter as a final sealing coat as well. In short, I use it where I'd normally use Dull Cote. John Ztrains: Z Scale (1:220) Model Train Layouts
