Does anyone know if UP ever had a SD40-2 with port holes in engine bay doors? I got a Lima #3542 ( I also have a ConCor SD40-2 UP # 8017 ) and it has port holes int he bay doors , one fwd and one aft. on both side of the engine. I saw photo roster of UP's 1000-4000 and #3542 shows as a SD40-2 with no port holes ... any help will be welcome.
I never heard of one with portholes and that means little. I would believe anything, though. Nice to see a picture if available. As to the models, what scale? Thanks.
Flash, If I can figure out how to post em ....other wise go here and look here . I am bidding on it ... ( ebay) one more day and I can post links .....
SD40-2s have a site window toward the back of the engineers side of the long hood, oval shaped, not really a porthole.
Otherwise there is no "portholes" Not sure what scale these SD40-2s are, both if N, I wouldn't waste any money on a Con-cor SD40-2, instead I'd look for a Kato one.
I'm totally unaware of any SD40-2s with portholes either. Seen the GP9Bs with one on the side but not an SD40-2.
I found one like you posted about. It is a Lima FP45, and are generally not considered worth the price of postage to give them away.
