Great, I have been checking out the same and using the same boxcar, but wonder how you created the power pickups? Can you share some info and images, please?
Listed below is an image of how the power pickups were made. I took phosphor bronze to make them. The portion that you can't see is how they are attached to the truck. What I did was drill a hole in the bronze, inserted a short piece of .025 music wire and soldered it in. Then drilled the same hole in the truck frame. This was the only way I could figure to attach to the delrin trucks. I still need to do some tweaks to it.
Yeah, David. I just don't have the abilities at video you have.:startled: It also have the bells. Just didn't turn them on. :rats:
And what's wrong with running UP lol...... Well step 1 is done I removed a roof from a Autorack without tearing it apart  tomorrow I'm running down to the local DCC shop to find a speaker for it and I need to order some of those wheel wipers that Ben posted on the other site http://store.sbs4dcc.com/wheelandaxlewipers-3.aspx
OK Guyz after two days of work I finished my sound car I just need to change the speaker out I went to thin and put a hole in it...... I went with 1 Sugar Cube don't think I can get two in it........
Mike, You "gutted" one of your SD-70's? Sounds like the first unit. And that is just one "cube"? But will it be loud enough at a train show? Cool.
Thanks Rob and yes David you guessed it I gutted the SD70 I was able to fit a decoder and speaker in it and now I'm looking into putting another speaker inside the cab it looks like it will fit with a little work
Mike, if your other SD pulls adequately, then perhaps you can sell the motor to someone in need or start a scratch building project. Hmmmm...oh the possibilities.

Hurts a LOT. Especially since that looks like one of the flag SD70s. The one I can't seem to find anywhere for love or money or blackmail That said, it's exactly the right way to do the job, so kudos to UP Mike for the good call. bob
Bob, I have a UP flags shell for trade for another SD70 shell. I am looking for either a BNSF or ATSF.
John I removed the gears on both trucks so that it would roll like the center wheels do it's very smooth.............
I hear you Rob and yes it did hurt just alittle but in the end I think it's worth it never thought Z would get great sounding locos............... Now to start looking forward to the maybe maybee it will be "Sound Ready" :startled: Loren good idea what do these motors go for??
