So there is a Trainboard reference on the Missouri/Illinois car? I missed it looking closely at the photos. That would change things for me.
I think things may be getting a little muddled here. There is no "Trainboard" on the car itself, but there is on the printed material on the box.
Yup...on the bottom of the insert as seen thru the bottom of the jewel case...in small letters :crying: If someone was to take the car out of the jewel case...and run it on thier layout...there is no indication whatsoever its a TB car. Also...If you misplace or throw away the jewel case...any evidence of it being from TB...no mater how small the print...is gone forever.. :crying:
You're correct. After looking at the car more carefully I don't see any. For some reason I thought I had read there was mention of it in the tiny car data. I guess it was only previous releases that had "Trainboard" printed on then. Still, rather than "Trainboard" plastered across the body of the new car, I wouldn't mind at all if it was added as part of the car's data in fine print. "Trainboard" just screams toy car to me. And that fluorescent orange on the previous release didn't help either.
I never throw away the jewel cases, ever! I'm horrible at that kind of thing. Every N scale loco or car is in it's jewel case, as are all of my CDs, DVDs, video games, etc. If for any reason (God forbid) that I have to store them or sell them...
Same here. Keep those for safe storage, off layout; for the fact items sell better with them; and for safer shipping if you part with an item.
Hey, hey, hey! Don't be talking about my 10 x 10 tin storage shed like that. It's my train shed and for now we are almost getting along. Nothing a little insulation wouldn't help. Actually my storage for the jewel cases is one of the closets in my bedroom. True. I realize the purpose of the train car was to sport a seldom produced prototype. A TB special run. No problem with that. But, some of us would like to see a TrainBoard train car. How about a baggage express car? TrainBoard on the top with all the typical lettering and maybe an REA sticker on one end. Or not! Grin.
Don't say that like it's a bad thing. I do the same thing. Jewel cases fit in boxes a whole lot easier than loose cars and locomotives. They remain clean and damage free when not in use. In fact, I may be worse than you. I've sold off dozens and dozens of scuffed, cracked and otherwise damaged jewel cases and replaced them with new ones (Micro Train, Kato, & Atlas).
I may need a 10 x 10 storage shed. One of my other hobbies is collecting anime figures (think action figures except really cute girls) and each one comes in a box full of swords, guns and what not. And, I have well over 100!
A 10x10 storage unit won't cut it for me. My other hobby is collecting cars. Real ones, not models. I currently have ten of them. On occasion, the trunks of some of them have served as temporary train storage containers until more room could be found in the house for additional trains!
I'd be in so much trouble if I had a garage. I have a thing for old Japanese cars. Good thing that I live in an apartment!
Might quite be old enough, but some day I'd like to own a '72 Honda 600 Coupe again. (The factory orange version, of course!) For years I have kicked myself for selling mine.
My thing is old Volkswagens but I only have two....now. One full custom show car and one original La Grande one owner type
Hey, does any acknowledgement usually get sent out when ordering? I bought one of these a week ago and got the paypal receipt right away, but I've heard nothing from Trainboard and the countdown of remaining cars hasn't changed (was hoping to see it hit 21 when I refreshed!). I'm not in any rush, just want to make sure the order was received. Regards, Rob.
Rob, The count is manually adjusted. I will get that car out to you. I was actually pretty sick for about two weeks and am still trying to bounce back. I will ship the car later this week. I apologize for the delay. Charlie
Charlie: No problem, I don't mind waiting. Just looking for some confirmation that the order hadn't been lost. Sorry to hear about your illness and I hope you get well soon. Regards, Rob.
