Aside from these four boxcars I bought from fellow TB member Ron Harris(Thanks again Ron!) Is there any other SNC stuff like decals or even locomotives?

I've been doing some searching about the SNC and found that they did lease a MILW road SD9(?) for a short time, I'm slightly more interested in the F units though. Does anybody now if there are decals or decals that have been made?

The premise to this thread is that my layout(my dream layout) will be built in 2 x 4 modules and it's the "Empire of the North" as I'm modeling The 4 hill lines, BN, MILW, SP, UP, & SI. it's gonna be a selectively compressed Washington state. I was hoping to get some more SNC stuff as I like obscure roads, and even paint up the F's.

I have seen custom painted (Kato) F units. Not sure what their source of decals might have been.

They owned three F7A, two SW1200 and an SW1. They leased MILW SD9 #502 from start up until early 1981, when the (ex-BN) F units were available. There were two ex-MILW steel cupola cabooses, both still exist. There is some really, really bad SNCT history being floated around out there, so if you need any accurate prototype info, I have quite a bit. I did a lot of the research for the old S&NCH&TS web site.

Thanks Boxcab, I'd like to model the SNCT trackage on my EoTN dream layout. I was hoping to get some loco's painted and decaled prior to assembling the SP&S fleet, and my BN F7/F3 fleet.

I have some N scale decals that a friend of mine made for the SWs and the F units. However, I am not sure where they are right now as I had to pack up my train room during a minor remodel and haven't had the chance to start unpacking again.

The only factory painted n scale for them I have seen or heard about are the Roundhouse box cars (12 cars in the set?) and the 50' one from Micro-Trains. Everything else I've come across has been custom work. (Some really good and some, yikes!)

That was how MDC did many, if not all of their car runs. Hopefully SNCT cars were issued the same way.

MDC did SEVERAL runs of SNCT decorated cars. The obvious were the ones that were decorated and stenciled SNCT. There was also some Green SNCT cars that were stenciled BN and then there were the brown ones that were stenciled MRI.

I have versions of all of these cars. I think I have 26 or 27 SNCT boxcars in my collection, all MDC cars. The MTL cars were not even close, so I dont buy them.

I do know they did the post-SNCT runs. But those for some reason don't interest me. :(

I have two labeled for BN which works for me as I could say they're "Joint custody" cars between the BN and SNC, my two brown ones are labeled SNCT one of them has opening doors is that the MTL one?

The one with the doors that open is a MTL car. The other is the MDC version. IMO the MDC cars are the better cars.

As long as they run I'm a happy camper, now I just need to hurry up and get them trucks.

27 would be quite a fleet if they are all individual numbers. I just picked up two of the older Roundhouse 'kits' at the show in Lynden for $3. I've also scavenged a couple of the others at train shows and online. I think I maybe have eight of the Roundhouse ones, all told, and the Micro Trains one. AS far as I know there was only one Micro Trains run, and I grabbed it just for the roadname. I paid too much for it, though, because it showed up two weeks later at the Lynden train show for $5.

There have been runs of decals for the F-units in the past, I'm not sure by what company, and there were rumours a couple years ago that there was going to be a new run done for the F-unit decals, but I can't corroborate that.

The only commercially available SNCT F unit decals were made in HO by the Herald King. I bought a set of these and had a friend of mine reduce them down to N scale. I also have decal sheets for the SWs as well. The unfortunate thing though is they are all packed away somewhere in a box in my garage right now as I am going through a minor remodel right now.
