We showed this at the Sunday breakfast at the NSC but I understand it wasn't well attended nor anyone paying attention lol anyway, here's a clip of the project.
I have four of the original Alan Curtis cast metal cars with the GHQ tanks. Very heavy but then isn't that prototypical? I want to see what the tanks look like. I like the MT rolling stock items but have not been as impressed with their loads.
I agree completely. A number of their loads appear as if they are made of modelling clay, which is an inexplicable departure from their otherwise excellent product line. These are 499 43 983 Generator Loads:
I am already using them. . . . . on the Alan Curtis flats (Now made by N scale kits) http://www.nscalekits.com/
I mean on the MT flats.....They are great looking and in scale. I also have been using them on the Alan Curtis flats....
Because the loads Micro Trains has done in the past have not been up to the same quality as their rolling stock. In fact, their loads have been rather poorly designed and manufactured. See the above post of the generators. Now if they do come out with a decent model of a M1 then I might consider getting the tank alone along with the roller bearing Buckeye trucks. I'll make my final determination when the model hits the street. and then consider all the possibilities.
The Shapeway tanks are expensive so we had also tooled the M1 and M1A1 for resin but put this off, as we were aware of the impending MT announcement. Given the comments above - should I reconsider getting these done in resin? Peter Peter Harris N Scale Kits www.nscalekits.com
