Mine are still unbuilt, in the packaging they were mailed to me in. I'm in the middle of relocating and most of my stuff is packed away in boxes.
Ooops, I forgot to take some photos. I was having too much fun running trains or shopping. They put a helix in the NTRAK layout that connected to a T-Trak layout. There was a transition module at a corner of the NTRAK that gave you an option to go down or continue on the Red Line. I took a number of different trains down the helix and around the T-Trak layout. One, powered by an old Bachmann 4-4-0, was unable to haul all its old Arnold old timer coaches back up so I had to pull two cars off.
Hey guys. I know it’s been a while, I haven’t gotten much time for hobbies lately but this weekend I got some done. My triple module is starting to take shape. Here it is with the station posing for correct placement. The station still needs it’s lighting done.
Who makes that station or is it scratch? I love it! Oops! Nevermind, I saw in your other post that it's a Faller kit distributed by Kato.
Me too send in for a invite so I can get some table or booth but have not heard back and has been a few weeks. So fingers crossed rich www.rslaserkits.com
I'm still working, so I don't have the time that others seem to have self isolating. Everything is on hold so no Car shows, no train show and no concerts! But, the good news is that I may have a pinched nerve in my back and I want to get that taken care of before things start up again. I have been lucky enough to do some railfanning while in the truck!
Well working from home has allowed me to have a few extra pennies in my pocket... well they didn’t stay there for long, I got myself 2 new kits to add to my modules. I also put my train station module and supporting modules together and put a few of my passenger trains on the rails to see how things looked. Well the Amtrak Empire Builder fouls the main on both sides, the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha fouls the main with all 3 engines but will clear with only one engine, and my TGVs fit just fine.
Only solutions I can see (1) Take a car out of the passenger train in the sideing. (2) Take the short pieces off the end of the main and move the turnouts to the edge of the end modules.
I have a 12” module that can get a 3rd track which should solve the problem... until my ICE4 arrives that is.
Man, you are lucky to have such fine passenger trains. you could always do 50s SP style and have the passengers walk over one track to the main.
I have many times seen people get on the tracks at Flagstaff but I have never seen the train stop on the #2 main to load and unload.
Looking to do a Quid size module what would be 30 inches deep for a engine facility, complete with round house, coal tower etc. know what I want but mental block as to how to get there. Would use the Kato track for the two mainlines then Atlas 55 for the rest. Anyone done one or have any ideas. thanks rich
Ok so I have not been doing much with my modules, you know all the shows being cancelled and what not... but I did get a bug to work on them the other day. So I did some wiring. Here are the results. this is my triple module. I have it all wired even the double slip is good to go. Here is one of the end modules. The other is almost identical so I left it out. I need to make another hole for another power pole plug then this will house the lighting and the turnout. More to come soon, I will be getting roads, ballast and buildings done next.
Massey, I like to use a spot of hot glue to hold down the wires, it's easy to pull them up if you need to and it keeps wiring neat. Joe
