I said goodby to these C-Liners yesterday. Someone is going to paint them in a prototypical CN paint scheme.
That would be me! Can hardly wait to get these!!! Been trying to figure out how to build some for years. Now to find the right decals! Oh well one step at a time...Thanks again, Russell

Wow -- I forgot about this thread (How dare I) -- LOL Here is another foob I came up with: This was a fun project. Thanks, Wolf
This thread has been around a long time, I might have put this up sometime before. Not a "scheme" as such but a herald. My railroad is a fictitious affiliate of the Santa Fe, the Santa Vaca and Santa Fe. I wanted a name with a Southwestern flair, and I remembered a town named Vacaville somewhere, think there was/is a prison there. Name Santa Vaca suggested itself. I assume it must mean "Holy Cow" (Saint Cow?) So I came up with a herald-- the Santa Fe New Mexican circle and cross in the background, with the silhouette of a cattle skull (from a University of Texas Longhorns logo) and a capital letter "O" turned sideways as the halo over the head of the cow. I use the herald as a letterhead and on "business envelopes" of "business mail" I send from my railroad's office. For instance, I send official company Christmas cards to some of my train buddies. One friend asked me for aq large file of he herald and he had a keychain made for me with the herald. I have not decorated any rolling stock with the name or herald, but I suppose I could print the herald in black on decal paper and mask/spray a white square background on freight cars. I could also make black letters S.V.&S.F. for orange refrigerator cars, but mineral brown boxcars or stock cars would need either white letters from an alphabet set, or letters custom printed by somebody that can do white. I told where the layout name Santa Vaca actually came from, but I also have a mythological story. The Legend of Santa Vaca At one of the early Spanish missions, the priest was trying to explain to the native Indians why they should give what they could to God even if they didn't have much. He used the example of the cow who gave up her feeding stall temporarily to become the crib of the baby Jesus. Her gift was humble compared to the gold, frankincense and myrrh brought by the Wise Men, but it became the very center of the Christmas scene. "See how God uses your simple gifts," the priest said. But the Indians took the story to refer to a bovine spirit in their pre-Christian mythology. The church tried to correct the error but it stuck and gave the village its name, Santa Vaca. And to this day, in the stained glass window of Santa Vaca Cathedral, in the background behind the images of the baby Jesus with a halo and the Blessed Mother with a halo, is the cow with the halo.
Vacaville is a city located in Solano County in Northern California. Sitting approximately 35 miles from Sacramento and 55 miles from San Francisco, it is part of the San Francisco Bay Area but also considered, at least by some agencies, to be part of the Sacramento Valley. As of the 2017, Vacaville had a population of 100,328, making it the third largest city in Solano County. "Holy Cow"

Here are two I’m thinking about. To give a little background, the TFLR is based on a fictitious section of the old MKT. It’s locos are the green and yellow with the stripes on each end, and the Texas Farm Link in yellow (the one without the state of Texas) under the cab windows like Montana Rail Link. The logo with the State of Texas is white and it’s for the red locos where the early Katy red locos has the MKT. Planning on three (two green and one red) locos then the rest will be second hand leasers with various schemes and TFLX stenciled on the cabs (kind of how Katy had all different stuff floating around). Also going to do some Thrall ribbed grain cars and some more modern grain hoppers. And I’ll stencil some heavily weathered boxcars and other grain hoppers to show my little short line is growing. An idea I've toyed with are a couple of "what-if" schemes for the D&H Alco PAs. The MBTA leased them for a year until they were returned to the D&H then sold to the NdeM. However, what if the the D&H cut the MBTA a screaming deal to buy the PAs instead? MBTA Alco PA4u What-If?
