To pull my Texas & New Orleans Sunbeam, I bashed a P-14 Pacific out of a Con Cor Hudson. I kept going back to it and adding more details. Skyline casing, skirting and a scratch built tender.
So did you convert the Yellow shell, or a completely new one and then weathered. Either way impressive, great work!
I stripped off the original paint and repainted the shell in SP colors. Bachmann hasn't made these locos in a while, and factory SP-painted ones are rarer than hens' teeth nowadays. Plus, I can paint a smoother coat than Bachmann
1st it is great to see you on TB again Jerry. What I have does not match the above work, but here goes. Before ( 01-08-2014 ) After ( 09-15-2014 ) Thanks for looking. Ya'll be well.
Micro Ace Japanese National Railway 4-6-2 Pacific. The mechanism with an Atlas Rivarossi boiler shell and a Bachmann tender. As an MKT Pacific with yet another tender and a Delta trailing truck.
No difficulties. I used a Dremel with cutoff wheel. Slow and steady. I cut just below the contact strip. Thanks, Wolf
Here’s a DD35 that got some upgrading. Changed plastic oversized handrails to metal railings, BLMA fans, weathering, and modified the trucks to have different bearings like a lot of the photos I’ve seen of these.
