I purchase a few N scale freight cars which are missing trucks/wheels/couplers. Several are the Trainworks GS gondolas - I assume those would have friction bearing trucks? Can anyone tell me which Microtrains truck sets match the GS gon best? Also I have an all-door boxcar which needs trucks. I expect as a 70's built car it would have roller bearing - again which Macrostrains trucks match best from what they offer?
Micro-Trains 1000 trucks for the gon, 00302021. I have Micro-Trains 1033 trucks on my Red Caboose ThrAll-Door boxcars, 00302032.
I did a search at woo woo woo, who I order from regularly and found the 00302031 for the Red Caboose All Door boxcar but so far hunting through the others they have did not find the 00302021 for the Trainworx GS Gons. I'll search other sources for those. Thanks for the info!
What timeframe are you operating in? Those gons would have had friction bearing trucks as built, but could easily have had roller bearings before they were retired.
The GS gons operated until the early 1980's at least. I doubt D&RGW replace the trucks with roller bearing before retiring them, but I am not 100% sure. Oh, and the vender wasn't woo woo woo. *rolls eyes* I forget this forum has censors.
I wonder if Scaletrains.com were to stop advertising here, if Scaletrains as a brand would become verboten here, as well.
My understanding is that there is a longer story about woo woo woo. But that is between Charlie and the above mentioned woo woo woo. *some things are best left alone.
This might help. Some dealer names are replaced with "woo woo woo" for the reasons discussed in the below link... https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/policy-trainboard-posts-about-retailers.40760/
