New release upcoming from Scale Trains with operating refrigeration sounds. Already on my preorder.....
Well it seems my issues with the Intermountain frame rot have put me into a mode where I am addicted now to Scale Trains products to offset the losses in the Intermountain debacle. I also decided to give TrainWorld a try. So far that was a bit taxing because of all the hoops with the credit processor they use. But those products are on the way. Photos when they arrive.
I haven't received them yet, but I got notice that I have now paid for them - 2 Scaletrains SD-40-2 for Southern. Might be at my door in the next week I hope. I got both with sound. And with GP7/9s with sound coming from Atlas shortly - OUCH for my credit card!
I got the same message about my SD40-2's I am just so impressed with the Scale Trains locomotives, I just can not see purchasing any other locomotives from anyone else.
If they release the GP30 in N Scale, with the high hood for Southern - uh oh! I might buy every road number they produce. As it is, I thought the HO ones looked so promising................ yeah, that's right, I preordered an HO model. Just what I needed to do!
My wife and I had some errands to run yesterday which took us to Melbourne, FL which is where my nearest train store is located. I picked up these items. The buildings, double track bridge and bumpers will be used on the layout and the rerailers/road crossings will be used on a T-Trak module that I am just starting to work on. Here are the buildings out of their packaging. They most likely will not stay in these locations. These buildings were glued to the cardboard to hold them in place. It’s very hard to remove the glue and cardboard. Does anyone know a way to remove the glue?
I'd try soaking a rag in hot soapy water, and setting the building on it for a bit. That should soften the glue to the point you can remove it safely. A sharp knife or chisel may help too.
It's been a while since I have purchased anything new. Super happy with my purchase of the Atlas GP9 and Bluford Shop caboose. Looking forward to putting them on the tracks and taking them for a spin tomorrow!
Well I discovered PNP Trains is 15 minutes away from my house. I stopped by today and came home with this U boat! The owners of PNP are super nice people and I now have a new home base for my N purchases!
Unpainted E-R Shark A unit with black gears. The vendor did not have a B-unit. It did require some customer supplied QC as the circuit board was not properly screwed down which resulted in poor electrical continuity. Once I screwed it down properly, it was fine. I am now doing break-in running.
Next up - 5 decoders to replace defective decoders in a pair of F-45's and a SD70ACe and the last 2 go into the new SD70M's in my last post.
Still rolling - ALC-42: 176-6056 ALC-42 Charger Amtrak® Phase VII #315 N Scale with a full light and sound package!
It's been a long wait since pre-ordering these but I just got notified that all of my BN SD-40-2's have shipped from ScaleTrains. I pre-ordered these back in 2022. I'll take a photo of these on my layout once they arrive. Brian
