Hi George, Sadly because of my work schedule I can only attend Friday and Saturday, but I'm already registered for the convention and train ride. I have been kicking around the idea of registering for the Banquet but I'm still on the fence, Is there a set limit on the number of folks that can register for the Banquet?

The limit on the banquet is actually set by the space at the hotel. We have to have a head count for food on the Wednesday before, but up until then if there is table space, we can still sell tickets. As with all of the events at the convention, the tickets are not a profit making venture, just a pass through of the costs to put on the event, so we try to make it as economical as possible. With the support from MicroTrainsLine, everyone always appreciates the car that they provide as the sponsor of the event. And this year, Eric of MTL and Jumpei of Kato will be performing their set as a singalong, owing to the surprise audience response to Sweet Caroline last year. The participation is of course optional!

    You should invite Warren Buffet.
He owns BNSF, has a train layout, and is a ukulele virtuoso.

Just finished our registration last night. Now I find out there will be a sing-along. Things keep getting better!

Will the hotel's casino accept Micro-Trains cars in lieu of chips during the Convention?

At the San Diego Convention we actually did have a poker tournament where we were using cars in addition to chips. It was a roaring good time! Perhaps we should bring it back for this event?

.... and we'll need someone in an NYC Conductor's uniform to deal. I'll be Doyle Lonnegan, eventually fleeced of my Micro-Trains cars. ;)

Just registered (also in for the banquet)! Can't miss this bucket list with it being so close to home (no cost of airplane ticket!). Looking forward to a fun event!!!!

REMINDER: there's a free (to convention attendees) welcome reception sponsored by Micro Trains on Wednesday, June 19th at 7:30pm. MORE IMPORTANTLY there's a Online Modelers Meetup just before that from 6:30-7:30pm. I'm hoping to meeting a lot of the online folks so I can put a face to an avatar. Should we create some kind of self-print-at-home name badge with all your forum names listed? :D

    So who's going?????? :)

Hi Mike, Yes Sadly because of my Work schedule, I'm going to miss the reception :( The plan now is to drive over to Bethlehem Thursday Morning, So I'll have most of the day Thursday, all day Friday and I'm registered for the Train Ride and All day Saturday. Then head back home Sunday. I've already made hotel reservations for Thursday night through Saturday Night. The rate for the hotel is a very reasonable rate. I'm just hoping I get a room that overlooks the former Bethlehem Steel Mill. :) Can't wait to see everyone at the convention.

P.S. If possible we should do a Trainboard group photo of all the members attending the convention?

I plan to do that if there are enough people. I tend to do all the group photos at events (Altoona, Atlantic City, etc.) that people now expect it!:D

I will be the assistant layout coordinator for the T-Track layout so stop on by Thursday as we are setting up. And bring your trains (and throttle) to run on the layout once it's up and running.

I signed up for the Banquet despite the high cost ($80!) but I figured a one time bucket list item... :)

And one more thing...ROOM SALES!
