We are blessed to have such a useful and well-administered forum here with TrainBoard. I find that a growing number of automotive forums are running on auto-pilot, with automatic approval of applications to join and dozens of new threads each day promoting CBD Gummies, Fast Burn Keto, weight reduction supplements and other bizarre product promotions often written in Chinese, plus pop-up ads. Thank you Administrators for your governance and our members too for keeping TrainBoard free of such nonsense and on point.
There's been conversation on some dying automotive forums on how Facebook and other social media sites have attracted membership and drained away forum participants. What's lost is continuity and the treasure trove of information forums contain. Social media is designed to attract eyeballs, so is often a short term, here-today-then-forgotten-by-tomorrow experience.
So true sir. Forums like this are pure gold. We are lucky to have it, the great admins, and the super members.
Totally agree on all points! As an admin of a motorcycle forum myself, it's a not-so-easy job at times, and platforms like Facebook (which I am not on myself) have definitely eroded the user base, however the core group on the forum I administer are very keen to retain the forum and I never have trouble raising the funds to keep it going, and in fact recently upgraded from an ancient, unsupported version of vBulletin to XenForo because there was a desire to get it as easy (or close to) to upload photos as platforms like Facebook make it. So, big thank you to the admins and moderators from me!
