I guess I am on a narrow gauge kick here. At one time I was launching off into HOn3. I bought a well used Westside K-27 and scratch built a box car. That is about as far as I got before I settled on Nn3. Here they are.
There a new ship in the harbor. It's a 135-foot wooden-hull (in real scale) minesweeper from WWII. Behind it a ABBA consist of F-3s eases a long coal drag across the bridge. This was just a test shot, but it shows some of the difficulties of photographing multideck layouts. The vertical dimension is severely limited, and getting even light into the decks is hard. This is only at F/11, as I was going to use the Helicon software for the final shots. I had to stop after the test shots to do other things.
Pete, The ship looks great however it is a little close to the bridge, Be careful it doesnt strike the bridge an misalign the track you could have a nasty accident Here is an oldie but a favorite of mine. The loco has since been sold to Ivo
Paul, The current here is carrying it away from the bridge at 4 knots. Later in the day, the current will reverse. I have to do another layer of "water" to break up the glassiness and introduce some chop.
Pete, Great looking display! As a newbie, may I ask you for the best way to aproach creating water such as what you display? Is it a type of two part epoxy? Any info is apreciated.
Joseph, I use Enviro-Tex, which is a two part epoxy widely available at crafts and art supply stores. I've also used many other compounds with success. I suggest you do a search on "Water", using the search function on Trainboard. I think you'll find quite a number of topics on your question. Right now, for example, this thread is active: http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/9/t/008266.html
Here's an early one from me. It's a Roller Bearing Models 100 ton hopper I built sandwiched between a McKean PC and a Bowser C&O 100 tonners.
Gotta lovem Hemi - Can't wait to run a long freight with them at the head. Maybe a couple of GN EBs in the middle. Great photos everyone
SNFF 4 9 06 A couple more shots of N scale exhibition layouts from the Nottingham Model Railway Exhibition, Nottingham, UK, March 17, 2006. Spitzweisertal, a N scale German theme exhibition layout: Closeup of the big bridge: Enjoy!
Starting a little slow this week. Building interiors: Interlocking Tower 3, Flatonia, Texas Texas Railcar Repair Company Hobo Home Watching trains go by.
Some new photo's of the JJ&E compiled with the Helicon Focus software: Stay cool and run steam...... [ April 08, 2006, 10:17 PM: Message edited by: Powersteamguy1790 ]
Can't say for all of them, but the middle one is an old Atlas GP-40 from the Roco mold. The lack of steps, the incorrect yellow paint on the roof and the fuel tank are dead giveaways.
College is ruining my N scale life, but here is a recent pic of a UP SD40-2 helping two SP tunnel motors on a mixed freight drag up the pass. I just moved this hulk across town because I am on an internship. The modular foam construction made it pretty easy.

John, that is Dave O'Rourke's layout (he is the bald one on the left) I visited his layout twice during the show but he was taking a break both times Dave comes from quite near me and I have seen him at many exhibitions. He recently changed from HO to N.
