Does anybody know where can I obtain enough technical information to scratchbuild one of these locomotives? They are rather obscure, but they bring memories of my youth in South America (another eon, another galaxy).
GE exported these locomotives to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay in the 50's, and two models come to mind: 6GE731 and 4GE756. I understand that the 4GE756 was actually a Cooper-Bessemer design, but was manufactured and exported by GE.
A variation of the above was also used by the White Pass & Yukon RR in Alaska. Regards, Fernando

I don't know what a GE shovel nose is. Maybe someone will post pictures.

    Flash-

The WP&Y units were essentially like a smaller F type unit. Except they had an almost flat, slanted nose. This was due to the fact they faced a lot of snowfall. And the nose angle helped the engine get through small drifts.

GE built the units. Cooper-Bessemer diesel power plants were used in GE engines until about 1969-1969 - they then switched to Enterprise power plants.
