I am wondering if anyone has any info or comments about the book called," Model train help"by Robert Anderson. It seems great but I thought I would ask .Seems to have a lot of detailed info. Thanks. Thought I would check before ordering. [ March 23, 2006, 05:05 PM: Message edited by: Joseph ]
Joseph, It could be no one has heard of the book, (I know I haven't) hard to comment on a unknown item. If you do order it be sure to give us your impression. 2slim
2slim, thanks. I read a bit more on it and I think it's an ebook. I am checking further. It's at www.model-train-.help.com, FYI If I'm not mistaken, an ebook is an on line book where you log in and download it. (after you pay of course) Anyway I sent an email asking. My PC skills are not that great, so please excuse the reteric
Yes its an ebook. and wow what a lengthy add. Personally I'd stick with the more known model RR books. What I don't like about this ad is when he says "Take all the guesswork out of setting up the perfect model railroad" Last time I checked there were no "perfect" railroads, but thats just my opinion. If you look closely at the bottom of the add he states that soon the price will go from 37.77 to somewhere in the 59 dollar range. Thats a lot for a mostly unknown rr book. just my 2 cents
Thanks for the 2 cents. I agree! After realizing it was ebook,I could not see myself going that route, especially with my limited pc skills and i can get all I need from the hobby shop and here on TrainBoard. Thanks again and your 2 cents ARE worth a lot.
My only experience with an ebook was similar to yours, Joseph. They had also mentioned the price would go up, so I was to hurry and order it now, so I did. I ordered the book, with about three weeks to go before the price change, but when the bill came, it was for the new price, so I told him to keep his book! Later, I found a printed version of the book on eBay and got it for about half the original price.
