If your digital camera takes photos that end up being over 2 megabytes in size, you will need to reduce them before you upload them to the new RailImages. The default in PHP for file uploads in 2 megabytes. If you do not know what this means, you don't need to. You just need to know that anything over 2 megabytes needs to be downsized. If you don't know how to do this with software on your computer, go to the IrfanView web site (click here) to download and install the free IrfanView program. Once installed, return to this thread.
Step 2 Start IrfanView and click on File > Open In the attached screenshot note that we need to show "details" and you can do that as shown in the image.
Step 3 Note that my photo called DSC00789 is about three and a half megabytes. I am going to open it.
Step 6 Click File > Save As and save the file on your computer to a directory that you want to keep the image(s) in.
Step 7 Now when I go to RailImages to upload my photo, I see it has been reduced to a mere 62k from over 3 megabytes. Success! This concludes this tutorial. If you have questions, please ask in this support forum. Charlie
