All I can say about the first one is WOW! that site detailing the build is impressive. And I can't even read whats written!
I wonder where this gentleman found the trackplan for such an impressive, albeit small, layout?? Unreal that so much action is packed into that tiny space!3x6'? 4x8'? Anyone know? I can't read German..
It's Swedish and from his email address, I gather builder Robert Larsson lives somewhere near Stockholm.
I cannot read Swedish, either. Is that a language? ;p Either way, an FANTASTIC layout,a nd a cool plan!
Looked at it a bit more..... In the text it mentions the September 2001 MR, so I went to the MR site and that issue has 2 articles about the Feather River and Keddie. It could be the guy adapted the trackplan from this issue. It sure looks nice, even if the Borg dominates it. Hemi, remember Mike Danneman's studio Rio Grande layout? I wonder if that could be adapted to this benchwork? That would make a cool portable layout, wish I wasn't at work, I'd like to play around with that idea! 2slim
I love that layout. Maybe it's the shortage of straight track and level ground, maybe it's the scenery work.
Wow. That layout really does pack a lot into a small size. For a brief moment I had thoughts of scrapping my layout and doing one like this. OK, moment's over. ~Tim
Awsome! Excellent arrangement and craftsmanship! It really 'fits' and presents an atmosphere of being 'real'!
You guys are clicking the links at the bottom of the pages, right? There are many pages showing how the whole layout was built.
Doesnt BNSF run the line now. I thought UP sold the feather river line to BNSF during their mega-mergers in the late 1990's.
