    They, Thanks for the heads-up in Shabbona!! Next time I'm rainfanning the C&I I'll head down that way. I'm in the process of getting my ATCS Monitor mobile unit setup. After I get that setup I'm hoping to be heading out railfanning more.

    Thanks

    =====================================================

    An engineer buddy of mine lives in Shabbona, his house faces the BNSF main.
    He is a good engineer,a good friend and also was my mentor when I was
    in Locomotive engineer training.

    Charlie, your friends house sounds like the "dream home" for someone like my wife. The real estate adgent looked at her like she was from Mars when she asked if they had any house for sale next to an active railway.:shade:

    Hey Charlie, I think I know who your talking about. Never met the guy, if I remember right probably lives down from where my grandma lived on Navaho St. This is the first time Ive been down in Shabbona in awhile, this morning saw 3 Sd40-2's pulling an intermodal east. 2 was Santa fe patched engines, 1 BN green on the nose. Just found out @ xmas time my buddy got hired as a mechanic at Galesburg, hoping to get a tour one day this spring if its allowed. Hopefully gets some nice close-ups of the SD9's if there still there. Since I live in Hampshire now, get to watch the blue and yellow ICE engines go by. But I go miss the ole BN!
