This weekend is playoff time! My son’s football team; the Drexel Hill Raiders Pee Wee Varsity hosts the Chester Panthers. The game is late in the afternoon, which will foul-up our usual schedule. This is the grocery shopping weekend. If I have time I would like to continue building the mountain foundation. I also would like to start painting the ground along the hillside. I still have three cars to finish weathering sitting on the bench.
Construction will halt this weekend on the Whitewater Valley (in the scenery stage). My 11 year old son, and modeling partner, is here this weekend so we'll be running trains!
I don't think I'll get a chance to build anything this week. I'm presenting my "Shooting Trains" clinic on Sunday at the SCWD meeting, so tomorrow I've got to get everything ready. I've also got to get my trains together to go to Trainfest next week. I'm not bringing any modules this time, but I've got the power supply and throttles for the club layout, so it's kind of important to haul my load there for setup.
I'm installing decoders in three more Kato Mikado's. I also will work on the addition to the JJJ&E. Stay cool and run steam....
Building more Fast Tracks points,a couple hundred hand made pines to finish & building a 1 4/8 scale M5481A1 (tracked armour carrier) with my son.Whilst still trying to finish 10 custom paint BN SD's......
Will continue work on the graphics for my special run cars. It is looking more and more like I'll mostly be selling decals.
Plan on going to the Royal Winter Fair and then the Fall Cottage Show, with a stop in between at the LHS to pick up some magazines. Will find some time in the evenings to continue the layout plans at some point. I checked the mail, alas no layout introduction for the TB Hopper this weekend, maybe next week some time.
Well for the past three weeks I have been winterizing the yard (the one with grass), blowing out gutters, and painting the hall in the house. I hope this weekend I can continue the scenery in the Ozark area and get the roadbed down for the grain elevator in Van Buran. I might even get to run a train or two.
I plan on finishing the painting on my second Chehalis Western GP-7 and my first wide vision caboose.
Working at the 'big house' all weekend and into Tuesday. I'll be following the interesting threads on my fav RR forums and maybe devising a workable N Scale plan for a 4x12 area. I may get adventurous and attempt to take apart a Hallmark Brass GP9 I picked up at a flea market to see why it's not working. I've never done this before so it should be interesting.
I plan to set up for photography and take my time composing shots. I have some other duties this weekend, so let's see what happens by Monday.
Today, Saturday, I am on duty at my Armory babysitting the place during a rental . Sunday I plan to complete the main structural parts of the benchwork. I also plan to start on the lat supports and backdrop supports on Sunday. By 12 November 2006, I hope to have the benchwork work complete to include foam board installed where possible. Before I progress too much further, I think it may be wise for me to decide the lighting solution for the lower level and get that installed. while things are still easy to get too. Here is a question, staging level ie parking lot......I am thinking I can get away with reduced lighting at this level. Any thoughts? what have you guys done for lighting for staging.
It's already halfway through the weekend, but I'm tearing off my first attempt at a road. I used Woodland Scenics road building kit, but I got it too watery, and it dried with too many bubbles. So I'm laying new road with joint compound, and we'll see how this works out. I also hope to get a firestation finished.
Well I'm workin' overtime AGAIN! And didn't get a chance to check the forum until now. Thinkin' about buying a craftsman cement company structure kit. Haven't done it yet want to see if my local dealer can supply it. Ya know guys (and gals) there just ain't enough hours in the day. I'm one tired SOB.
I plan to get the main structural components of my benchwork done and the storage back in place. I've got one of 4 sections done, but I need to adjust some stuff to fit in in it's spot.
