We have the usual bi-weekly shopping runs to make. On Saturday we are going to a Holiday Dinner Show. Other than that the weekend is better unorganized. I would like to get to the LHS this weekend since they are having their annual 40% off after Christmas sale. On the layout I would like to color the rocks. I would also like to start building the roads but I am out of Smooth-it so I need to pick-up some. I also have a couple of coal loads to make and need to start painting and/or weathering the houses for the mountainside and the farm.
I'm going to continue working on rock formations using Vanda Orchid chips on the fourth addition to the JJJ&E. Stay cool and run steam.....
I hope to get some NTrak module work done this week since I'll be showing a couple modules at the upcoming SCWD Rail School on the 14th. What I really want to get done is a behind-the-backdrop shelf and a pair of end loops so I can run one or two modules without having them connected into a complete layout. If I can't get to that project, then my next goal is to adjust the roadbed on my 10' module section so it lines up properly at the 5' joint in the middle. It shouldn't be that hard, just remove a few screws, insert a shim and put a couple new screws in. At least I don't have finished scenery to redo after this adjustment.
I'll start the weekend early today and finish track laying on the B&M layout which will include finishing the main and the diamond at Whitefield NH and the concrete spur. If Tina can shake her Flu, we'll go to ppuinn's op session Saturday and return Sunday.
Go to Stockholm to visit MMM (H0 modules) and FNISS (N modules). They have a week long running between christmas and new year. Did a quick visit last Wednesday after work and took a few photos. Hope to get some time so a can replace some point motors on my H0 layout too. Also need to replace a double crossing with a normal cross. To many problems and I really don't use that double crossing. Going to run the trains for a couple of hours also.
Maybe get some containers put into service, get some more assembly done to my Proto 2000 covered hopper and quite possibly get a double stack car into operation.
I might get some photos taken. We are celebrating Christmas tomorrow, as Jeanne was away with her sister on the real one.
Probably scheming about the space offered for the new layout. I've got wallstrips and shelves up on one wall, and promptly filled the shelves with books, books, magazines and rolling stock. So I need more shelves. Oh, and to start a thread on deck separation.
Start putting the benchwork together to see what I have to work with, and what I need to work on. The layout planning is coming along...
