Friends, I want to bring up this topic again because I think it shows a lot of interesting people behind the postings. Please go ahead and show us your face.
My kids (both absolute railway fans) and myself at "my" railway: Mornington Railway. Engine in the background is an Australian K-Class 2-6-0 K163
Yeah, they like the trains almost too much! That is why I keep the nscale layout...so they can learn! ha! The funny thing is my 1 year old probably loves them the most, he will sit on my lap and watch them for as long as I run them!
Camera's Don't Like my Mug!!!! I am not the photogenic type!!!! Out of about 1000 photos of me, only about 10+/- would look OK!!! I kid you not!!! Well after combing thousands of photos of me, I found a fairly good one, but then again maybe it's because my Better Half is in it with me. The camera decided to straighten up and take a good photo!!! Here I am!!!!! Ok, now for the rest of you Non-Photogenic people, the King of Bad Photos has posted his photo, now it is time for you to post one too!!!!! Hobo Tim
the glamorus hollywood couple Uncle Timmie, you guys look great. hold on to your beautiful fiancee. I understand she is trying to learn the basics of Z scale. Absolutely great cause you need all the help you can get crankin out those terrific masterpieces of yours. Like when we used to communicate years ago, things weren't picking up then, but now the world is seeing the skills and talent of this truly gifted SGT. and things are blooming for you. I would put my picture up, but I'm ugly as a donkey with 3 hernia's. BTW Tim how is work coming along on the tank cars? Can't wait for them to be done.
Talk about unglamorous photos, I wonder if Rob Kluz would let me post that one of me he printed in the post-NTS 2006/Z convention issue of ZTrack. Shows my burgeoning pot-belly in full profile. ;-) At least you found a shot that leaves your belly out of the photo, Tim. ;-) Randy
Wow, cool pictures guys! I hope more people will follow. @Rob Ray maybe you can make this Thread sticky? Also the Thread "Whats on your Workbench" must be sticky.
I've been snooping around on the Z forums because my lack of current space is making me consider a Z layout. Not leaving N scale, just doing whatever I need in order to watch trains run. So far I've been very impressed with the cameraderie in the Z groups, very similar to N. Anyway here's me:
Hi Peter, Welcome to the Z Scale forum! Lots of the guys here have HO or N layouts too, and want something small to mess around with. Z is perfect for that!
In a way. I am visiting the vessel up in Vancouver during my sister-in-law's wedding up there. However I work in Seattle. My job takes me to Tacoma since that's where our terminal is. It allows me to enjoy my second interest (after trains), which is ships.
An yan ha se yo Peter (sorry, no Hangul mal available on Trainboard). There is so much you can do in Z. A shelf layout with sidings, etc. or you can make an oval type with lots of curves and tunnels and such easily on a 2x4 or less. I kinda got the bug from Marklin's '84 catalog (their 125th anniversary one) where they had an acoustic guitar case with a dog bone and yard in the neck plus a fold up layout built in a hard cover document book. So be creative, it will fit.
