SD45-T2 9238 has just battled 90 miles of mountain running, and at the end of the run, you can see the pollen from the pine trees has stuck to the outside of the journal.
Very cool! I can't say I have paid attention to that before..... Jerry's gonna be a tough act to follow...
Here is mr train's entry Front of a control building where the controls for the switch are housed. The switch is on the BNSF main line used when leaving the main going on to the siding. Some how you knew a plug for my home town would get in here:embarassed: For a farther back view see the link below the control building is directly behind my white truck http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showphoto.php/photo/47633/ppuser/941
Arggh, I had to go railfanning on a weekend that the contest wasn't run (last week). I tell you, it's going to be hard to pick a winner from all of the great detail shots that you folks have submitted. Keep it up! :teeth:
I had a hard time deciding which pic to use. It was a good day weatherwise for photos. So after looking back and fourth this is the one...a switch point
Doofus, Thats a fantastic shot and something that i'm involved in Professionally is turnouts (switches) Would you have any full shots of those switches you could send me???
I don't have any shots downloaded at this time but I can get them easy enough for you. This one is a "hand operated electric lock switch" in CTC territory. I do have some other partial shots of that switch that I took today. One has all of the electrical equipment at this particular site. Let me know what you need...........
An example of creative modification is this modern alternator on a Milwaukee Road bay window caboose.
