Snow? In Alabama? Sounds like global cooling...if you ask me.

Looking forward to more pictorials of your layout.

You are doing some fine work.

Sounds like somthing outta "2012". The earth has shifted on its axis and Chicago is now really the north pole !! That puts jerry right in line with a masssive cold front. On a similar note...we usually get winter around Nov 15. Its sunny and 62 on the mountain here in AZ today. Go figure...LOL

The snow missed us and the winter warning was lifted today. :) I think they say that when milk and bread isnt selling well because that stuff flies off the shelfs first sign of cold weather! LOL

Well bummer.....after several test, I have one little section in a curve where 89ft autoracks touch on both lines. Going to have to pull up and move the inner line over about a milimeter. They dont hit all the time, but better safe now then sorry later. With my luck they would never hit till I had someone over, then, well.....you know the rest LOL :)

You sure you don't want to just get the sander out and narrow those autoracks? :tb-tongue:

Or how about treating it as a gantlet track? Hold one train while the opposing train passes.

Certainly a lot to digest in this massive thread. I really dig your scenery skills. Especially the rock work, trees and water!

Do it now. I'm sure you don't want to do after you paint the ties & ballast the track.

Just as long as the sideswipes are on the layout and not on the road. I know a couple of guys who got nicknames because they did it more than once.
