Modeling today consisted mostly of cleaning up webs and mice droppings on the track. A spring cleaning.....lol
Jerry, I enjoyed the video! Thanks for posting it. I tried to railfan the line years ago. I can now see why I was not very successful, only 1 road crossing. I noticed one stretch were the rock walls were very close to the track, was there originally a tunnel in that area? Glenn
Heres an old penny postcard of the last cut I go through in the video when it was first completed....
Got a few things started this afternoon on the layout. First, added rock to the front of the concrete barrier, and started adding the poles to the BLMA fence.
Also added more detail pieces around where the 'switch' will be going into the refinery. Frog, points, guard rails, ties all added. I will add workers later too.
Looking the other way. Ever since I started putting the tanks and pipes in place on the layout Chevron has been complaining they need railcars, so thats why the switch is being put it.
Once I get the 'Pinole' area completely finished, well, never finished, but complete except for super detailing, I can get back to the ATSF Line. Working in there this weekend I think I am going to get busy on Richmond Yard. I dont like the ATSF just being a track in the middle with nothing on the ends so to speak. And, If I get Richmond Yard in with the diesel area I can put my locomotives out and appreciate them more. Just my thoughts from this weekend.
Nice to see you back to working on the layout! I always look forward to seeing more progress on the ATSF Line.
Looking forward to seeing the progress and wish I could be there to...well...I'd just mess things up. Better I sit and view from afar. Grin!
Finished all the poles on the fence and added more ties into the plant. Will go back out in a little bit with the camera and get a picture.
