(Feel free to post yours here as well). South Attleboro MA. Before I could refocus I was looking at the tail lights. The bridge made an excellent frame so this was cropped. It was also lightened since I'm shooting at the "dark side". My intent is to be on the sunny side with a tripod next time.
Nice photo, Steve, but I don't understand "Meatball". I thought the AEM-7 was nicknamed "Toaster"....?
That's a cool shot. You can't always be in the right spot, but you can be persistant and creative and make the proverbial lemonade, which you did.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEM-7 From the above link: My understanding is the Washington area shops call them "Toasters" or "Swedes" and the Boston area shops call them "Meatballs". I'm not sure who calls them "Mightymouse".

Thanks for the links, very interesting. "Swedish Meatball" makes sense. BTW, the edible variety are delicious when cooked authentically.
Hey, I forgot I had a couple of pics! I typically wouldn't have any Northeast stuff to share but I made my first trip to Philly last year and got a few less-than-decent shots from the window of my NJT train. (at least I think those are AEM-7's ?)
Mike, You're welcome! Actually I misspoke...the first photo was NJT but the second was on my way to the airport after hopping off the NJT train downtown. My photodocumentary of the trip can be found here: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=77852
Hytec - you are welcome. Doug - The side veiw is perfect for my needs. Less detail is easier for me to work with. I can get a rough silhouette for the shell I'm thinking of. Rrr - saw one of these flash by my window and has wanted one ever since - she says they are "cute".
I call it: "Kissing Meatballs" I travel through South Station almost daily. I hope to get a pic as they blow past my window but it is hard to predict and be ready. By the time I hear it coming it is almost past - and my townhouse shaking.
I thought the E60CP/CH was the last good-looking electric, but you know, I'll like the AEM-7 someday...
"Thieu" - TB member mentioned they look "European". There are a few small Marklin models of similarly looking "boxes". Some day I'll try to kitbash one. Yes, I agree...someday. And some day pigs will fly past my window.
Here are a few from the NEC. #1 taken at the BWI station south of Baltimore and #2 taken in Guilford Ct. Down here we call them toasters.
Through the Trees I'll have to post it here as I can't find my "Trains Through the Trees" thread. If those trees were not full of leaves yo ucould see my window:
