While I'm not modeling much in N these days, I'm making more images of my Across the Arizona Divide layout available. I've posted some new images on my website including this one, featuring the fine workmanship of master modeler Chris Lane of Tempe, Arizona:

Yes, it's UP on my layout - the result of a run-through agreement due to a derailment near Las Vegas. Chris customized all the freight cars in the consist; his work was featured in a recent article in N Scale Railroading magazine. There might be more where that came from! (hint, hint )

I am publishing a photo CD on my site with 300 images of the railroad, many never published or posted on the web. All proceeds go to a fund supporting the family of a police officer killed recently in the line of duty. Check out my site at http://members.cox.net/vgniner/home.html for more info.

That was a nice N-Scale Railroading issue, Verne!

Nice to see your workmanship hasn't degraded since the move to On30 (right?), but the website isn't as nice anymore. It screams "1998!" with those marquees and randomness. The Arizon Divide site was much better. Just my 2 cents.

Wish I could buy the CD...

Speaking as a witness, by no means is it 'less' in On30, just not as highly evolved at this point in construction. Spent a truly pleasant evening running sound-equipped a 2-cylinder Shay, a Climax, and a gear-crunching, gurgling, gasping Goose up and down and around the new layout with Verne last month. But closer inspection of the benchwork shows the signs of what 'had been' with the Divide layout - roadbed signs, ties, little bits of paint... Not at all unlike trying to sense legendary Santa Fe history from observing the current BNSF....!

I've acquired or purchased enough 'stuff' from Verne that it's great fun looking at some of the old shots and spotting stuff that is now on my layout:

Spot the derelict truck beside #1790 here:
    http://members.cox.net/glniner/divide.htm

It's now alive and well, shot up as ever, on my layout:

N Scale Norm, Sue, and Sparky are now living along the tracks in West Flagstaff:

And that telephone pole too, came from Verne's layout. Who else individually paints and glues TELEPHONE POLE INSULATORS?????

And there's more coming, in the boxes of goodies salvaged that I got.

You certainly have captured the essence of Santa Fe. Us Barstow boys are used to seeing UP tearing up our Santa Fe rails. Grin!

Nice work and thanks for sharing.

    Excellent CD

I just received Verne's "Across the Great Divide" CD with his pictures. It is really nice to just sit and have a slide show of Verne's layout. Some of those pictures are just great! I don't have any financial interest here, just a satisfied customer.

In fact, Verne doesn't have a financial interest, either. All the proceeds go to a police officer memorial fund.

    Anyway, highly recommended!
