My 'Cuz' John In South San Fran. Is building the Embarcadero in Downtown San Francisco. Me thinks he is going to end up with all of South of Market District when he's done....Sheeeez. His latest effort is the Third St Bridge. A draw bridge that today is just south of Pac Bell Park and crosses China Basin...........................
Looks great!!! I'll get a closer look when I finish this Clam Chowder soup in a Sour dough bowl from Pier 39.
That bridge was also in the James Bond movie "A View To A Kill". James leads the SFPD on a chase through the city with a stolen fire truck. The police ask the bridge tender to raise the bridge and the fire truck makes it over the slightly open bridge while the cop cars make it to the top and get stuck, eventually crashing down to the street. I can almost see a little Marty figure down in the corner beside the bridge with his bottle of Thunderbird vintage sparkling wine tightly wrapped in a brown paper bag, dreaming of what life was like before the 34th bean ball....... Great work Cuz John !
Nice! I used to hang out at Lefty's Bar on Powell Street when I was stationed at Treasure Island in the mid 60s.
