Usually I don't pay much attention to it but something caught my eye. On page 58 they have their N scale progammable indexing 130 foot turntable on sale for $169.98. Maybe I'm wrong but I haven't seen a price that low on one of them ever. The Etailers I have checked are all at $225 or above. Anyone else ever see them this low?
On Orders over $125 shipping is free and they will throw in an HO catalog too. I know, I tried to get the N & Z gauge one but no go. Still the HO catalog has some stuff appropriate to all scales. Ship seven to ten days.
Just speculation, BUT, to see a price cut that deep means to me only one thing. The product isn't moving too well.
Maybe they just "made too many"? or Possibly the price was a bit steep? Who knows, they don't tell ya, so we can't give em feedback. Rob
I just hope they're clearing it out to introduce an additional, smaller turntable of the same quality. I've heard great things about this model but I would want a smaller version like 100ft or so. I do think it was probably a little expensive for the market, although I think it has definitely set the bar--for those that need turntables, there aren't probably too many available with that quality for that (previous) price. I'd say that now it's quite a deal.
The price, MSRP 299.00, was too steep. None-the-less, I pre-ordered one at $209.00 and thought it was worth it at that price. I didn't feel that they would be so abundant... that there would be a glut and bigger discounts would occur in the future. It hasn't been the practice of most manufacturers to overproduce items over the past 5 years. Its a great looking TT even at the higher price... its even better looking at these deep discounts.
