Hey guys and thanks. I actually have kept up in pretty good communication with Jeff from CMR. His last reply was pretty exciting. I'm pretty aggressive with emailing companies and letting them know what I'd love to see. I think it gives a better chance for these companies to produce what you want. Anyways here was Jeff's response to my last email....pretty exciting like I mentioned.. Hi Bob, The photos look great. As it happens we shipped your order today so you should get it soon. I apologise for the delay but we have been swamped as our new kits have really been selling well. This is a good thing and we are very grateful to all our clients for their support. We should get to the other N scale kits over the summer as things slow down, hopefully we will have prototypes for the NMRA convention in August and kits will follow after that. So... if you like what you get and I am sure you will, we should have more for you in a few months. Jeff Springer I'm interested to see what new prototypes they may have. Does anyone know what NMRA convention is? or when and where? Can anyone attend? Anyways I added a few more of my buildings to my temporary set up and photographed them yesterday. I have a lot more to do and I have a lot of details to add to the ones you see in the photo. Anyways all in time, but like any custom model railroad layout it's a lot of work and can be overwhelming to say the least. Here was the photo I took last night of my buildings... here's a larger view of the photo at this link... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3508/3257120075_954a37603c_b.jpg Anyways have fun, I'll add some more photos as I create more buildings in the future. I just saw this guys question about making taller buildings and wanted to share with him that there are some made and lots you can create yourself. All the best, Bob
DAYTIME AND DAYTIME.......no trains yet but I'm expanding to the left and almost ready to work on my Vollmer Baden Station.......
Greg, Again your work is outstanding. I can't wait to see what you create with your Baden Station. I haven't posted what I bought off ebay on here. This is a kitbash high rise building made from several Baden Station kits. I've got a lot of detailing to do with this structure still. This is how it came off ebay. I got it for 50 dollars. I'm excited with what I'm going to do with it though. Though all in time. Cheers, Bob
Baden it looks great too Bob....and a BARGAIN at $50.00...............I REALLY like the Baden station as it is, so I'm going to stick to the original this time...I really don't want to mess up......... SUBWAYAZ....thanks...glad you like it.............
Okay...someone needs to build a model of Burj Dubai. At 2700 ft, it'll be the world's tallest building, the largest freestanding structure and the tallest manmade structure. Just a challenge!
That's funny. It's amazing even in N scale how large some things are. I've been trying to decide on a cruise ship for my city layout but haven't come to terms with which one to buy yet. There are a lot of different ships for sale in great detail. If you can believe it an average Cruise ship in N scale is almost 6 feet long. I was floored when I found that out. So I may scale it down to about 4 feet. I'll wait and make a decision about this later on. This is my latest kitbashed skyscraper for my city. I'm waiting on 2 more kits to finish mocking it up before I paint it and add lights to it. Made from multiple kits of the Tomix 4018 office building. This is my plans for the other two kits that I'll get this week... Once I'm done mocking this up, this is going to be an extremely detailed building. I probably have another 30 to 40 hours to put into this structure. I'll post the final product! Cheers, Bob
now those are tall buildings. with them on the table it looks there they just barley clear the ceiling.
Wow guys, these buildings kinda make me wish I was still doing N scale. Those buildings in HO would go from the basement to the second floor.
