Looks like I'll be in Lou'VUHL... Friday afternoon. Hopefully I'll book a hotel at an affordable rate (oxymoron?)... there's always a chance of sleeping in my van at a Wal-Mart parking lot. Now the important questions... By the time I get to Lou'VUHL... the majority of the convention attractions will be over. There are those two 'extra fare' events which I might want to attend... the Banquet and the Manufacturers Breakfast. So... I have to be registered for the convention to attend those 'extra fares'... right?
! expensive? ! I was under the impression the registration was not very expensive. I could not find the price on the DCE website. I'm guessing registration at Louisville is possible (I think Friday is last day)... but would like to know how much it will cost. Paul or Dean... if you're out there lurking... let me know!
Currently the registration is $85. You can register on-site. Dean is always lurking, but as I type he is lurking on the tour to the Dinner Train. Paul
You may have to pay extra for internet access in the room with convention pricing. The more expensive rooms listed wi-fi on the features list. The special convention room pricing didn't list it. I usually go on the assumption that if it don't say it, it ain't included. Most hotels do have a hot spot available though. Guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow nite.
There is no extra charge for use of the internet. I am connected at the Galt House right now at 18.0 Mbps. Carter
I am here at the Galt House waiting for the morning trip to ride the train at the Kentucky Railroad Museum.
I'm in room 409 for those that are present and I got a full 54Mb for free. Stop by and say Howdy. ... Kewl.
I'm here at the Galt House now, just checked in. I'm typing this from the 3rd floor lobby bar area via Wi-Fi. By the way, I have two samples of Randy Gustafson's critters (his resin kits, built up by the Randgust himself) with me for sharing and display: - the Whitcomb 65-tonner, you'll be able to see it at the Model Contest room - the GE 70-tonner (painted up in Southern Pacific), which will be running on the N Trak layout, and available for viewing most anytime you see me I'll also have a few of my stuff around too. I'll be on the Layout Tour on Wed AM. Photos to follow sometime late Wed evening. Hope to see many of you soon.
arriving thursday afternoon and will be there until friday afternoon. Should I bring my prize bachmann 0-4-0 saddle tank to run?
