INRD SD9043MAC #9001 by steve w. thank you... well, another $50 paintjob - yeah right ! got an eMail from a friend who saw the prototype engine at the paint shop and he did send me pictures of the roof - yes, black anti-skid patches, the same as on the CP Rail engine (or the gray ones on the CEFX one) - another 13 decals later that's how the engine looks like now...
Nice job Steve. I was watching this long before it showed up here. Its now WAY OUT of my price range.:tb-hissyfit:
Good job on the paint Steve. BTW since Jim at Highball Graphics makes the decals now for this loco, I guess can paint that one all day for $50 a loco now. Only thing I'm not gonna give you is the "added details" (coupler cut bars, grabs, etc). But paint and decals all day long for $50 plus the decals from Jim. So Steve, I appreciate the lowball cut with the $50 comment so I guess I won't make any negative comments about the underside of the grabs above the cab windows not being painted white or the what looks to be jagged edges on the lower side of the white stripe on the side of the cab sloping forward. Maybe it's just a bad camera shot. So Steve I'll stop making comments about you and how about you do the same for me. Thanks.
Dear Jeff, thank you for your comments and review, it is always good to hear criticism from another fellow custom painter. btw, you did forget to mention the way too big red SD90MAC on the sill... no worries my friend, just go ahead and use this post for another commercial for your jobs, we are not fishing in the same pond...
Thanks Steve, got orders for at least 1 of the IRR SD90's already. Another thing too - I thought we all fished from the same pond - the Model Railroading one. Yea, we aren't in the same league as I don't apply sepearte details. However, I do paint well. Thing is I fish for the "normal everyday guy" and you go for the millionaires. Less millionaires in the world though.
Gentlemen, May I suggest that we each continue our own business models as we see fit and make our own customers happy? I think that is far preferable to picking at each other's scabs. Adam
