I have 2 Life Like GP 38's. I want to replace the rapido couplers with MT's. These on here are truck mounted. Is there anyway to body mount MT's to a Life Like? Or do I need to stay with a truck mounted? AND...can ya tell me which MT coupler # will work best....TIA

    MTL 1128, 1129, or 1130

MTL 1128, 1129 or 1130 (different length shanks) for the talgo mounted couplers.

I'd throw those GP38s away; the couplers are worth more than the engines.
The newer ProtoN GP38-2 has body mount couplers, and is so far superior to those old junkers, you won't believe the difference. You can buy them new for $40 or less.

I'd recommend getting the newer design with the split frame also. The GP38 with the Talgo couplers was LifeLike's first attempt at making a decent locomotive. It is very low on the learning curve. The plastic frame GP 18 and the plastic frame FA/B 2's were far better but their split metal frame units even more so. They redid the GP38 in the split frame design with body mounted couplers if you want to stay with that model.
