Hey guys, I'm the new kid in town. A little about me, My name is Michael Link, I am 16, I am a sophomore in high school, I am a proud member of Margaretta FFA. I also wrestle, I wrestle the 171 weight class. I am a total gear head, I love antique tractors, I live on a small family farm, we use Olivers, Minneapolis Moline, Allis Chalmers, and Farmall. I like stock farm tractor pulling I pull and I am currently restoring my 1949 Minneapolis Moline UTU. I read books on engines and electrical stuff, I can rebuild a engine as quick as any mechanic, I know lots about what interests me. As well as engines, I know my model trains, locomotives, how they tick. I run a small business called Northern Ohio Model Railroad And Repair, for more info see my post in the For Sale section. I play guitar, I play a american made Fender Strat, I am a big Nirvana fan. I also like my old semi's Dodge Bighorn is my favorite, working on getting one of those. I model the PRR in the 60's in Northern Ohio, in of course HO scale. I love railfanning the NS, I shoot with a Cannon Rebel XSi. I like pretty much any eastern railroad fallen flag or current. I also have a soft spot for the BN. I love talking trains, tractors, engines, or anything. I like to joke around, and I think Model Railroading should be fun, as well as should be something you take your time with and do it right the first time and you should be proud of your work. PM me if you want to chat. I am looking forward to my time I will spend on this forum. So go check out the thread for my business see if I can help you out. I will post pictures of some of my work soon. Have a good one, Mike
Mike, Welcome aboard! Your railfanning and modeling interests will be shared here, of course, but you'll be in good company with a lot of your other hobbies and interests as well. I am a fan of old tractors, too, particularly old Fords (learned how to drive an 8N before I learned to drive a car), Rumely Oil Pulls, and steam tractors. Here's a short video I took over the summer (I suggest hitting the "watch it in high quality" button at Youtube's site - it makes it just bearable). Welcome Michael. We like models and we like railfanning, you are in the right place! I went to an antique tractor show not long ago, and really enjoyed it.
Hi Mike ... welcome to trainboard. My grandfather had an old, (unknown year) Oliver Cletrak crawler on his ranch that I used to bomb around the apple orchard. If you wanted to use it ... ya had to crank it to start it!
I like to see some old tractor fans, yeah I am AGCO (The modern day company that was formed from just about every single tractor company besides John Deere, Case and International) to the bone but I do have a soft spot for farmalls and the old Internationals Mike
Welcome Mike! I understand your passion as will most, if not all, members here. I love anything with an engine but have a real soft spot for steam.
Welcome to Trainboard Mike!My wife's family lives near Bluffton Ohio so I sneak over to Fostoria whenever I can.My stepson plays acoustic guitar and is a freshman at OSU-Lima.My father-in-law has a Farmall F12 (1932) that he restored and shows at different shows around northwest ohio.Sounds like you are multi-dimensional and will be a great asset here on Trainboard!
Welcome Mike! We have a lot of the same interests as well. I have had an interest in tractors, trucks, trains(of course), engines, etc since I was little. It is nice to have persons that have very similar interests on the forum!
hip hip Hooray! Glad to see another ohio railfan. so where do you live? would love to see pics of your layout. im in southwestern ohio so cincinnati is what i railfan most, you are lucky to be northern ohio as there is much better railfanning locations near you.:thumbs_up:rolleyes:
Welcome to Trainboard! I was raised in Ohio, east of Cleveland, but my maternal grandfather lived in Delphos and was a NKP engineer running Berkshires out of Lima until his death in the 1950s. My cousins still live in the area, and run a family farm in a town with the often-joked-about name of Gomer.
MRL says HI and welcome to Train Board!!! Lots of useful information here along with pictures the whole bit! It is one of the best sites around. J.M.O.
Welcome! Not into tractors. And I don't play guitar. But I did stay at the Holiday Inn Express lastnight. No, really, I am from Northeast Ohio. Mentor specifically. I model Southern Oregon in N scale. Mostly BNSF with a bit of UP thrown in for variety.
