I’ve just bought a Digitrax PM42 the instructions say that you need to connect a “ground” wire to the booster case. I’m using a MRC for my basic set up and it doesn’t anywhere to connect a ground cable to. Does anyone know what this is all about and is it safe to run the PM42 without the ground connection? I bought the Digitrax unit as I intend to swap over to a Digitrax sometime in the future. Ted
If you are using the MRC "extension box" (fascia plate), you can probably access system ground by using the circuit board's mounting lugs as a ground point. As a last resort, you could tap into the power supply's -12v wire. MRC doesn't seem too forthcoming with wiring diagrams, but grounding at the fascia is what I needed to with my NCE Powercab.
