Hello, I know about the Digitrax DS51K1. It's great, but dcc only. Is there a dcc decoder for Kato turnouts that can use local push button control as well as the dcc?
Not at this point in time. Use the Kato controller or a momentary switch to control turnouts on a DC layout. George Stilwell designed a momentary switch that he uses for Kato turnouts.
Well, there is the DIGITRAX DS 64. But as far as I know you need a DCC system for it to work both via throttle and push button.
sorry for confusion I do have DCC. I just wanted the best of both worlds. Control from my hand held cab AND push buttons on the fascia.
The NCE Snap It may be what you are looking for. To quote NCE: Control one twin coil switch machine. Has capacitive discharge for low current draw of track power. Provides connections for two "local control" pushbuttons. You can control switches from your cabs and your control panels.
