Looks good. Would love to see some high resolution pix of that shell.

I always thought the real ones were very cool.

If I was going to sell the shells, it wouldn't be from this run and master. I would need to make another master because the current master isn't really good enough. The main problem is all the changes that needed to be made to the roof of the hood then trying to get it all flat and square. I've mainly done that but it still won't meet peoples expectations especially if they are shelling out coin.

So I'm looking to rework the new master from scratch. I'll paint the ones I have up in Santa Fe and see how they look .

Here is my GP40X, did it several years ago, never put a chassis under it. I used an atlas GP40 shell along with SD60 shell parts.

Forgot to add that 3807 was my address growing up and the Santa Fe yard was 5 houses down the road. When I saw GP40X 3807 as a kid I always wanted a model of one, just didn't know that it would be this hard to have one in N scale.

    Awesome brian.

Hey, that layout looks pretty cool, too. Where can we see more pictures of that? :) (Your Railimages link is broken.)

Now that's a handsome GP40X. Didn't they have a blower duct on the walkway on both sides, and was the dynamic brake fan that tall? Doesn't matter because you have one and I don't. :p

The dynamic fan seems to stick up farther than on this one.

No not yet, I'm having to remake the master and I'm making sure that all the cuts and pieces are done to fine tolerances. Then I need to make a new mould then send a few to Atlas. If Atlas approve then it will be made available which is why I'm making sure it's the best master I can make. However the four that I did make are nearing the completion. In the meantime Randy has a fine CF7 project on the go!!

Think I still have a GP60 awaiting one of these shells LOL, no rush though it's on the 2020 todo list! :D

Heck, wish I had that level of skill. I'd love to do a B-unit GP60 in silver warbonnet :) Boy I do love me some ATSF movers..... I do, however, have lots of casting experience and your work looks top-notch!!

I saw a great photo on TO showing UP GP40X 9000 and 9006 sandwiching an DD40AX 6900. Now I have to have these for my 6917! So I updated the thread to see if Alister has made progress.
