    I spent my rainy Saturday planting trees. A mixture of Bachmann, Timberline and Grand Central Gems. I may eventually replace the Bachmann trees with my own, more work to do!!

    Blending in

    For my road/rail bridge, I need to cut out part of the bridge piers (from Chooch) to allow the highway to pass through. Doing so, of course, exposed the bright white interior of the piers (see my earlier photo in this thread). To attempt to hide that, I cut pieces from a pre-printed cardboard stock that I found at my LHS. After painting the piers a mix of concrete, railroad tie brown, and applying a wash of grimy black, I am very pleased with the results. With the bridge pieces in place, the effect is flawless:
