    Hello everyone.
I have a question regarding putting some sort of lighting system in my Proto 2000 NE Center Cupola Caboose.
Anyone know of a lighting kit or have done any custom lighting in one of these cabooses or one similar?
Caboose has metal wheel sets so electrical pickup shouldn't be a problem. Also I'm familiar with electricity and wiring.
    Thanks in advance.

do you run DC or DCC. With DCC I would simple use a bulb. Or a LED with an resistor. You can also put an decoder into the cab and this way you can switch the light on and off.

    Thanks for the response Wolfgang.
    I run a DCC layout.
I was wondering if it was better to mount the light in the center of the caboose, or closer to the roof, or even on the floor of the caboose.
Which looks the nicest or gives off a better effect.

You might build some interior and put not so bright lamps under the roof (in any case) but not the cupula and one lamp on or at a table to do the paperwork. That would be very neat.

just started working on my caboose. figuring out how to remove the shell was a task in itself. but i figured out how to remove it and i must say the proto 2000 cabooses are engineered beautifully.
anyway, i've decided to use a tomar industries lighting kit. and miniatronics lights, i've decided not to use led's due to the fact that i just want it to be dimly lit on one side. i'm also contemplating adding a smoke unit and an orange light for the stove inside it.
i'll update with some pictures as i make some more progress.
