I live in the Philly/Reading- Pennsylvania area. (I travel between the two everyday) I have been searching the web for local deadlines or train graveyards in the area for some time and cannot find anything. When I was a kid, Conrail used the old Reading yards in Rutherford for storage. I am looking for something similar for photography reasons. Any help with locations would be greatly appreciated.

I can't think of any near this area anymore. Last one would have been in Lebanon, PA but that was cleared out in the early 90's on Conrail. Only area I can think of that would fit that is near Altoona, but you can't get in there without trespassing, so that's a no-no.

You can occasionally see some RBMN equipment by CP Laurel off of Tuckerton Road in Temple, PA, but there usually isn't much there. Good luck in your hunt!

Could it be that deadlined/stored power is being held at facilities of those two companies that took ownership of Conrail. Which are in other regions of the country?

As high as scrap prices got a couple years ago, and as common as it is to hire contractors to scrap equipment, It would be real hard to find any sort of deadline these days, aside from a miracle like the Lost Engines of Roanoke, Va.

Perhaps at a major locomotives rebuilder such as LTE in Ohio or NRE in Illinois, but it may be hard to get permission to walk around those sites.
