Are there any decals available or planned for the CP Vancouver 2010 Olympic loco? It looks great in the commercial for CP. I checked Microscale and didn't find anything.
You might want to recommend it to Microscale. Also from what I heard, there is no one "Olympic Loco" Like SP did for 1984 and UP did for 1996 and 2002, but about 20 locos in the CP fleet with the white diagonal band on the body with the Vancouver 2010 logo on it.
Unfortunately to do the stingy IOC, there never will be commercially. They are very hardcore about who uses their olympic logo and want huge royalties. This is the same reason 2001/2002, the Salt Lake City units were never made either. Its a shame...
There sure is an Olympic set for the SP loco. Microscale # 60-464:tb-wink: You can also see a model of it over on Atlas Forum on N Scale side in "Bi Centennial locomotives"; if not mistaken I saw it sometime back
Athearn made one of these in HO back in '84. I kick myself for not buying one (or kick myself for not asking my parents to buy me one - I was only 12 at the time ). For N scale, Emperor of the North makes a custom-painted version using a Kato SD40-2:
Mais bien sûr! It's alright. It's really minimal. It's as if CP can just peel it off right after the Olympics are over. I would have loved seeing the big green and blue "wave" designs that you see at the Olympic venues incorporated into the loco scheme.
ioc will not give any licenses for this logo. except if you pay in advance of $50k..... but there are some good pictures available... and there are people with alps printers.... but first you need to get a gevo in cp rail colors. as far as i know only gevos had these logos. this is why i didn't print decals yet.
Sandro, I noticed you're in Switzerland - also the home of the IOC! Maybe you can go have a talk with Mr. Rogge on our behalf!
