My son and daughter in law were at a train show in Washington state recently, and bought me a couple of Con Cor Mikados. Does anybody know anything about them? What do I need to watch out for?

    Thanks

I should have mentioned that these are Heavy Mikados in the cardboard box with the foam liner. They also have magnetic couplers on the tender.

They were allright for their time, but the Kato USRA heavy 2-8-2 has superceded them.

The running qualities vary wildly model-to-model, even those with the same motors and tenders. They have driver pick up on one pole and tender pick up on the other. The pulling power is not bad. MT made conversion kits specifically for these models.
