I installed a micro tsunami into a Bachmann Heavy Mountain. The sound works perfectly but the loco doesn't move at all. I have tried resetting the decoder several times. I completely rewired the motor and hooked it up to dc power and it tested out fine. But it still wont run. The power light on the decoder lights up as if everything is normal. I am using an MRC Prodigy if that make a difference. Any help?

I am sure you already know this but you did address it as loco #3 or change the address?

Yep. Did that. I have tried several decoder resets to no avail. The sound coming from the loco acts as if everything is normal. The chuffs increase when I increase the speed, the functions work. I don't know. Did I possibly get another bad decoder? If so this would be my second one from Soundtraxx. Maybe I'm cursed.

I might just put in a TCS M1 for the motor control if I can't figure it out.

I don't know how your MRC system works.
Can your read back any of the CV's?
Does MRC have program track mode?
When you try to blow the whistle does it work?
If the whistle does not work, then you are not talking to the locomotive.
But you do say that when you increases the speed the chuffs sound faster?
How are you doing the factory reset? You MUST remove the power to the locomotive after doing a factory reset.

    Eric,
My Tsunami in a Challenger did the same thing. Contacting Soundtraxx I was informed that it was a "popped motor fuse." This is a factory resent. That means removing the decoder, sending it back, re-installing it when returned. This is the third major problem with my Tsunami purchase. Since the Challenger was first released I have been able to run it maybe a month. Contact Soundtraxx and see what they say. I believe they will want you to return the decoder so they can re-set the motor fuse

If you have a digital volt/ohm meter, you can check the output voltage on the motor leads. If there's nothing there, it'll have to be sent back to Soundtraxx.

There is no voltage coming from the motor leads so I'm guessing DocGeoffs problem is the same as mine. I'll contact Soundtraxx on Monday and see what they want to do. Now why did that fuse pop? I'm wondering if there was a problem with the enemal coated wires that were originally used for the motor leads.

And yes, I did reset the power after entering CV8 = 8. Still didn't work. Also, all the bells and whistles (litterally) work fine. Just no go.
