Why waste your money? Get a Kato.

The only reason to buy a Halmark is if it is a prototype that is not made by Atlas or Kato.

I have three from Hallmark and one from Key in "N". The Hallmark when I first got them did not run well. I re-motored them with Kato's and that was a vast improvement. That was nearly twenty years ago. I had not run them for probably seventeen years. Recently a great model railroader installed decoders in three of them and they are now pulling on the nearly famous "No Name RR". Would I buy more brass? NO. When you can get the quality and detail that is far better that brass today, use the same money and buy much more. Just look at the IMRC AC-12 for example. I bought brass when no one was making SD45, Tunnel motors, SD50's and U50's. And if they were they where lacking in several areas.
    Just MHO.
